2016 12 01 Prayer

Avinu shabashamayim, regardless of the holiday celebrated this time of year…whether Christmas or Chanukkah…it can be a really hard time for many. It can be the first without a loved one. Or there can be financial challenges or health challenges. So many things can interfere with our ability to enjoy the celebrations taking place all around us. We can feel alone in our grief or struggles.

But we are NEVER alone! You ARE with us!

Even as we grieve.

Even as we hurt.

Even as we struggle.

You WILL give us what we most need…physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally.

You WILL connect us with resources.

You WILL help us to overcome.

You WILL help us to rest in YOU and YOU alone.

You are our Abba.

Our husband.

Our shield.

Our strong tower.

You COVER us with Your wings and Your tzitzit.

In this we CAN rejoice!

Even in the midst of deep sorrow, there can also be deep joy…only because of YOU!

This is something the world cannot understand. May we shine Your Light to the darkened world in how we live for You regardless of our circumstances.

Thank You for Your many blessings!

And Avinu, I know I need this reminder very much and very often. Help me to take this to heart every hour of every day!
