Good morning, world! Life at my house!
I have six dryer balls…four larger and two smaller. Sometimes, when I pull the clothes out of the dryer, one of the balls will go rolling across the floor or end up tangled in the clothes and in the laundry basket. But I can always find them. I am usually pretty diligent about checking every time I load and unload the dryer to make sure they are all there.
Yesterday, however, one of the smaller ones was missing. The last time I had pulled the laundry from the dryer, I did not check it. Oops! The laundry was already put away and the floor was clear. No dryer ball…anywhere. I was so puzzled as to where it could be.
Today, when Dave put his jeans on…well…there it was in his pocket! I had noticed a lump when I folded his jeans, but since they are bulky and the ball is fairly small, I just wrote it off to a combination of bunched up pocket meeting with extra thick seams. I did notice it was odd, but did not bother to check it out.
Isn’t that like life? Small things can creep in where they don’t belong. You might even notice something does not “feel” right, but you just write it off instead of doing due diligence and thoroughly checking it out. Then, at some later point, it pops up and catches you by surprise.
In the case of a dryer ball, it is no big deal…just a funny moment. But what if it is something negative in our lives? What if it is something not so inconsequential and funny and we ignore it?
Pay attention! If something does not “feel” right, there is a good chance it isn’t right and there is something you need to be checking into. Be aware and be cautious.
Above all, make sure you are not allowing sin into your life…or something that can seem small and insignificant, but can turn into something big and very bad later.
Have a great day, everyone. Blessings to you all!
