“When will Yeshua/Jesus return physically to the earth?” Some people believe that is the most important question. I don’t agree. I think there is a more important question. “What will you be doing until then?”
You see, none of us knows at what point He will come for us. We may not have another hour or even breath. So, the real question is the second one. “What are we doing while we are waiting?”
Are we drawing close to Him by reading His word and spending time with Him? Are we loving Him by obeying His commands as He tells us to do? Are we walking in His ways and bringing justice and mercy to our world in whatever way we can? Are we loving our Creator with all our heart, soul, mind and strength? Are we loving our neighbor as our self?
What we do and what we say makes a difference in our world. We can bring people up or we can bring them down. We can help them out of a difficult situation or we can ignore them or, worse, we can make it even harder for them.
What is our relationship with the Creator like? Is it an adversarial one where we constantly push back against Him and His ways? Is it one where we view Him as a sort of vending machine where, if we put in the right works, we will get what we want? Is it one where we expect Him to be how we want Him to be with no regard for how He truly is? Do we see Him only as a way to get something rather than as someone to give something to? Or do we see Him as a loving Parent, and Husband, and King of the Universe?
There are many ways to live and many kinds of relationships with our Creator. I encourage you to seek Him with all your heart. Find out what He is really like. Ask Him to show you His ways. Give your heart to Him and allow Him to change you and make you into who you were created to be…His son or daughter. Allow His Spirit to teach you how to live.
It is called repentance…turning your life around and going in a totally different direction. Turn away from doing your own thing and run toward Him. Realize how much you need Him and how far away you are from Him. Accept that you fall so short of walking in His ways. Ask Him for forgiveness for all of your rebelling against Him. He is quick to forgive if you turn toward Him and let Him rule your life. He LOVES you. Yes, real Love wins in the end. But you have to accept Him for He is real Love.
This is something with eternal results. This is something you cannot do on your own. But He makes a way. He sent His Son Yeshua/Jesus to take the penalty for our rebellion and He sends His Spirit to give us understanding and strength to walk in His ways.
He is there…just waiting for you to cry out to Him. Don’t wait another moment. You may not have another breath.
