100 Days of Thankfulness — Day 3

Today, I am thankful for a dishwasher that does not work. Well, it works, but not very well with our very hard water. I have to make sure there is absolutely no food on any of the dishes and, still, there are times I have to rewash things by hand. Part of the problem is that the water pressure is somewhat low and the water gets cold when it has to refill.

This reminds me of our lives. We need the Ruach HaKodesh/Holy Spirit to stay hot in our lives. If we allow our spirits to become lukewarm or cold, we just can’t do the job which our Creator designed and called us to do. We also need to have the Ruach flowing strong in our lives. We want those living waters that Yeshua said would flow from us to be flowing strong!

It also reminds me of how we need to be cleaned by Abba. Just as the dishwasher cannot clean our dishes very well, requiring a hands-on washing, we need a “hands-on” cleansing by our heavenly Abba. Oh, we might be able to do a partial job, just like my dishwasher. The dishes might even look clean…at first glance. And we might even look pretty good…at first glance. But a closer look oftentimes reveals that the cleanup job just isn’t good enough. Just as we need to finish up the dishes, we need Him to come in and finish up cleaning us.

I am grateful for the dishwasher, especially when I can actually get it to clean my dishes. But I am even more grateful for my heavenly Abba, my messiah Yeshua and the Ruach HaKodesh who clean ME up!

HalleluYah!
