Shabbat Prayer – In the Beginning

Abba…in the beginning there was only You.
In Your love, You created a whole universe
and it was good.
You created plants and all kinds of creatures
and it was good.
You created humankind in Your own image
and it was very good.

Abba, You made wonderful things for us
and yet we have strayed so far from You
and from the wonderful things You had for us.

Please help us to turn our hearts fully toward You.
May we love You with
all our hearts,
all our souls,
all our minds
and all our strengths.

May we walk in Your ways
and show the world out there
that You are real.

May Your Ruach love others through us.
Help us to love our neighbors as ourselves
and to love one another.

Abba, how it must break Your heart
to see bickering and name calling amongst Your people.
May we set aside our differences and
focus on loving
and obeying Your words to us.

Thank You for Your grace,
Your mercy,
Your love,
Your forgiveness.

May we not take any of those thing lightly,
May we not walk in selfishness
and the ways of the world.
May we be people of integrity,
and faithful.

May the world of darkness
see Your Light shining in us.
May the lonely
see Your love and companionship in us.
May we be there for others,
setting aside our own comfort.

Stretch us, Abba.
Cause us to grow,
whether we want to or not!
Mold us.
Refine us.
Make us usable vessels
and then use us for Your glory.

May we work FOR Your kingdom
and not against it!
May we walk according to YOUR will
and not our own.
May we live as children of the Creator of all things!

B’shem Yeshua
