One good thought triggers more good thoughts!

I heard a good thought last night and I listened again today. It triggered other thoughts and I wrote them down. Here they are:

I have been thinking about all the evil we see around us and all the wars and rumors of wars going taking place. It seems like bad things are happening in so many places and it can be a scary thing…unless one remembers that G-d is sovereign. Nothing escapes His awareness. He knows what is going on everywhere. In fact, nothing can even happen without either His causing it or approving it.

So, why does G-d allow these bad and evil things to happen? One of the reasons G-d allows bad things to happen and evil to rise to prove to people who what they have is NOT working! Note…this is not the only reason, but it is a very big one. In fact, I would say it is the single biggest reason.

People are looking to government to take care of them and the country. They are looking to entertainment to distract them. They are looking to drugs, alcohol and sex to make them feel better. They are looking to therapy to fix the gaping wounds in their hearts and souls (not that it can’t help at times). But the point is that we are a people who are looking to all these things to take care of us, to fix us and to help us feel better about ourselves and the world we live in. But they won’t work because they are not what we really need!

What we really need is to return to the Creator who made us and all that exists. He has reached out to us throughout the ages and His words and teachings to us are recorded in the Bible. He has left evidence of His existence in a creation that is so complex that to think it happened by chance is absurd. Someone put all we see here. Someone shaped it and made it precisely livable to the degree that there are many things that, if varied by a small amount, would make the planet uninhabitable for us.

That Someone wanted to reach us so much that He actually sent a part of Himself in the form of His Son to the Jewish people to show us Himself and to help us to understand Him better. His Son…the Messiah…whom we know as Yeshua (Jesus is the anglicized form of His name) came and walked with us. He explained the teachings and law. He corrected where some had gotten off track. And He willingly, out of LOVE, paid the price for our breaking the laws of the Creator. He is what we need…not all these other things!

Now, G-d prefers people come to Him without having to go through all these things, but many simply will not see their need for Him otherwise. How much simpler it would be if they did!

How is life working for you? Do you have peace? Is what is happening in the world and in your country making you afraid? Is what you are doing and the way you are living really working for you? If not, what will it take for you to see that what you really need is something other than what you have been trying?

There is no thing that will really help you. There is no person that will really help you…other than the Person of the Creator…the G-d of the Bible…the Messiah Yeshua/the Christ Jesus. Please seek Him today. Do not delay! The things that are happening in the world today were prophesied long ago. We do not know how much time we have left before Yeshua’s return. And even if He does not come for a while, life, for each one of us could be gone in the next instant. We do not have tomorrow guaranteed to any of us. We do not have today guaranteed…or even the next instant.
