A Connection Between Killing Unborn Children & Increase in Child Abuse?

I have heard the argument that aborting babies leads to no unwanted babies and that it will cause a decrease in child abuse. Yet, the numbers of child abuse continue to rise. Some of that is due to better reporting. Studies show, though, that better reporting does not account for all of it.

There are many women who had abortions who later found themselves battling intrusive thoughts of abusing their children. Sadly, some of them acted out these thoughts, sometimes resulting in death for the children. Is there a connection? Obviously, not all child abuse is connected to abortion. However, if a mother’s heart can find a way to kill her unborn child, can she also find a way to abuse her born children?

The following are two excerpts from studies that were done on this very subject. When I read them my heart broke yet again. They are a hard read. But I ask all who care about children and who want to stop their being abused to PLEASE read these articles. Let us keep looking at this. If there really is a causal relationship, we MUST do something about it…for the sake of the mothers and the children!
