Running water is handy. It is convenient and not really appreciated much…until you don’t have it. Or until it is in an inconvenient location.
In the RV, we had to hook up to a hose from the outdoors to get our water. In Beit-Shalom, we have water piped directly into the house. At first, it was only in one location. Gradually, we have gotten water to other places in the house. Oh, what a difference it makes.
It wasn’t until June 23rd that we had the bathroom sink hooked up with water. Whenever we used the toilet we had to go to some other part of the house to wash our hands. It was inconvenient…but very doable.
Running water…flowing water…so taken for granted…until you don’t have it. I cannot imagine living in the places where I would have to go to a well or stream and haul it back in buckets.
The Ruach/Spirit of G-d is compared to water…living and flowing inside of us. I wonder…do we take the Spirit in us for granted, too? Do we not recognize what an incredible gift it is to have Him living right inside us? Do we recognize His flowing within us?
We benefit from having running water in our homes. Do others benefit from the Spirit/water flowing through us? Or do we hog it all to ourselves? If we are hogging it…do we even really have it? Perhaps, we are blinded to the fact that we are dry inside…with no Ruach…no living water.
What about you? Are you dry? Or are you flowing? Are you a mud puddle? Or are you a flowing stream of fresh “water”? Do you bless those around you?
I pray that you will go to the Source of living water…the Source of the Ruach…Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah. Only He can give you that living water inside. Just as we humans need to hook up our homes to sources of water…we need to hook up to our Creator for the inner living water!
